Gaming is the heart of Wind Creek Hospitality, but at Chicago Southland, their brand new “crown jewel,” offers an expansive range of experiences that transcend just the casino. This entertainment and hospitality destination invites guests to discover a variety of treasures – beginning in the lobby.
As guests enter – whether through the main casino entrance,
the parking corridor, or from the hotel escalator - they are
enveloped by a cloud of oversized, sparkling gems, crowning
this spectacular flagship property. Raining down from above,
thousands of pixels create a dimensional and dynamically
immersive experience, using cutting-edge volumetric LED
technology.

Purepartner by Design conceived this installation to creatively merge a captivating and artistic visual experience, while blending entertainment and marketing opportunities via technology. Over 200 jewels are individually programmed to work with the volumetric LED video strands, enabling Wind Creek to offer new guest experiences throughout the year. Thematic programming can range from holidays and seasons to abstract and artistic lightshows. Between these entertaining segments, Wind Creek seamlessly integrate promotions and sponsorship marketing.
Dazzling light shows and promotional capability are just the beginning – Wind Creek guests can actually become part of the show! Guests dance, celebrate and interact with motion sensing cameras, and integrate their moving figure into the volumetric LED above in real time. Another custom experience allows guests to choreograph and manipulate the light show above using their body movements. This visually-driven, interactive technology experience was conceived to encourage guests to share their experiences on social media, further driving word-of-mouth promotion for property.
Purepartner selected Digital Ambience to lead the digital charge. Their team, from Berkeley, specialize in interactive digital installations and are the exclusive volume metric LED design designers and programmers in the US. Their talented team drove everything from programming to content creation!
To ensure stylistic cohesion with the Chicago Southland property, Purepartner worked hand-in-hand with Wind Creek’s In-house Architect & Head of Design, Jennifer Lewis and the lead interior design firm, Nelson Worldwide.
MetroPro Artisan Network was selected to dimensionalize the physical creation, engineering and fabrication of the gems, as well as all hanging infrastructure. Their installation expertise and on-site management ensured that the premium experience and artistic intent were safeguarded, and the full vision manifested in real life.
